A European company, for European security teams
We started DarkFindr because investigating the dark web by hand was too slow for a consulting mission, and too uncertain legally to stand behind.
Why we started
DarkFindr started on a mission at a consulting firm specialised in cybersecurity and GRC. We needed to know what was circulating on the dark web, and doing it by hand turned out to be slow and arduous: far more time than a mission allows, for results that were hard to make exhaustive.
The legal side held us back too. Without a clear framework for what could be collected, kept and handed to a client, we were hesitant to go further.
DarkFindr is the tool that mission was missing. It was founded by Erwan Bouvier, a graduate of INSA Rennes with more than 25 years in cybersecurity across industry and services, and a dedicated spin-off, Quiet Mind, was created to carry it.
European-sovereign by design
European sovereignty has been a founding constraint from day one, and it shapes every architectural decision we make:
- Infrastructure. Scaleway, Paris. European operators. No US or extra-EU sub-processor on the critical path.
- Team. All analysts are EU-based, working from EU jurisdictions.
- Legal framework. Every retrieval method is documented and reviewed by European counsel.
- Governance. Cap table majority-held by European entities. Public sub-processor register.
The people who make DarkFindr
Security buyers do due diligence on the people, not just the product. Here we are.
